Polymide tape which is often referred to by its brand name Kapton tape is an awesome tape to have in your makers toolbox. Polymide table is stable across a super wide range of temperatures from all the way down to -296°C all the way up to +400°C.
Polymide tape is used in the real world on spaceships, aircrafts, x-ray machines as well as in electronic manufacturing and of course 3D printing
- Kapton tape has great electrical isolation properties so you can use it to prevent short circuits between components on a board or between boards and metallic surfaces. Polymide is often present in final customer products
- Kapton tape can go inside ovens and under heat presses so its perfect for fixing t-shirt heat press designs in place before heat pressing or PCBs in place before putting into a reflow oven
