Behold, the tried and true FT232RL compatible USB to Serial converter! Every tinkerer has a few of these programmers lying around whenever the situation arrises where you need to program that microcontroller that doesnt have onboard USB to Serial circuitry

This board brings out the DTR pin as opposed to the RTS pin of the FTDI cable. The DTR pin allows an Arduino target to auto-reset when a new Sketch is downloaded. This is a really nice feature to have and allows a sketch to be downloaded without having to hit the reset button. This board will auto-reset any Arduino board that has the reset pin brought out to a 6-pin connector.



Warning
This programmer, like most of its kind can operate with 3.3V and 5V logic so it can work with all microcontrollers. Before connecting to your board, ensure you set the pin jumper to the correct voltage that matches your board.

Connecting the programmer to your board when the wrong voltage is selected can permanently damage your board
