These small 0.66 inch Wemos D1 Mini Monochrome OLED display shields give you the ability to easily display information in your project and is designed as a shield that can easily click into your Wemos D1 mini and mini pro board

The display is made up of 64x48 OLED pixels which can each be individually controlled by the on board controller chip which in turn can be communicated with using I2C from your Wemos device

The power consumption of the device varies with the number of pixels being lit up and their intensity although on average the display used around 15-20mA when lit and 2mA when the screen is not lit. 

The module comes complete with standard 2.54mm male headers that can be soldered onto the shield. Communication is over I2C with  with SCL connected to pin D1and SDA connected to pin D2. Adafruit has easy to use drivers that you can install and program using the Arduino IDE that makes interfacing with these little things a breeze!

OLED displays are made up of tiny organic LEDs, 1 for each pixel. This means that over time (Roughly 1000 hours + of use), OLED screens will start to dim. To keep the screen uniformly lit for as long as possible, ensure you turn off the display when it isnt needed

Note 1:
See the back of the module for the I2C address. Each module has two available addresses which use a solder bridge / 0 ohm resistor to select. By default, use the address which has the bridge already installed, this will work for most applications

If you need a different address then the default one, desolder and move the solder bridge from its current location to the position corresponding to the alternative I2C address
